ABOUT

An Artistic Passion: The King

If I've chosen to dedicate this gallery exclusively to Elvis Presley, it's not solely out of musical passion. It's because, for a portrait artist, he embodies the ultimate subject. From the raw tension of his early days at Sun Records Studio to the majesty of his Las Vegas years, his face tells a story of an era, a zest for life, a vulnerability. My goal isn't just to reproduce a simple photograph, but to bring forth that magnetic presence that transcended the lens.

Capturing the soul of the world's great artists and thinkers has been my life's work.

Keeping the legend alive: The Festival years

My passion for Elvis extended far beyond my easel. In the 90s, I felt an urgent need to bring fans together and celebrate his memory on a large scale.

This led me to organize three major European festivals at the Centre International de Valbonne (Sophia Antipolis): Elvis European Encounters in 1995, Elvis - Sun and Rock'n'Roll in 1996, and Elvis Memories in 1997.

These events allowed me to collaborate with legendary figures. I had the immense honor of working with those who knew the King, such as D.J. Fontana (his historical drummer) and Ed Bonja (his official photographer), as well as the illustrious Charlie McCoy. We also shared the stage with formidable artists such as Terry Mike Jeffrey, Big Al Downing, Ahmed Mouici, Ricky Norton, Kevin Mac Lan, Phil Edwards, Gérald Beretti, and Betty & the Bops.

Today, I still keep invaluable photographic archives and extensive press coverage of these unforgettable encounters. It is all this energy, authenticity, and closeness to Elvis's world that I now convey in each of my portraits.
