By drawing this intimate scene on the train back to Memphis, I wanted to pay a strong tribute to photographer Alfred Wertheimer. The lead pencil was essential to recreate the documentary atmosphere of the time. The strong contrasts of the graphite highlight a pensive Elvis, far from the excitement of the stage, captured in a moving moment of truth
